Production Associates

We are hiring Production Associates  for an established Cobourg manufacturer.  We are looking for strong candidates for the Straight Afternoon shift.   This position is full-time, long term and we are looking for people who enjoy working in a workshop environment, being hands-on and enjoy working as a team.  This is a small family orientated business, where everyone works together to get the job done!   If you want to be part of a growing business and you are motivated to learn, then we would love to hear from you.

START DATE:  As soon as possible

RATE OF PAY: $20.00 p/h plus 4% vacation pay.   Paid weekly.   This position has the opportunity to go permanent after which, you will be offered a strong comprehensive benefits plan, 2 weeks paid vacation and ability to earn up to $26.00 p/h

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday.   Aft shift – 3.30pm to midnight

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be reliable and have excellent attendance record
  • Able to operate and work in a safe manner at all times
  • Physically fit and able to stand for the duration of the shift
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs comfortably
  • Able to work in a noisy environment – hearing protection will be provided and worn at all times
  • Excellent dexterity and hand/eye co-ordination
  • Experience using hand tools and grinders typically used in a metal fabrication shop
  • Capable of measuring with a tape measure in inches and millimeters
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in an industrial setting

DUTIES:

  • Assembles and sorts parts for processing
  • Removes parts and inspects the parts for defects
  • Uses a wide variety of hand tools including tin snips, hand grinders, banding tools, hammers, pliers and scissors to process parts
  • Use safe working habits to perform job function at all times
