Entry Level Production Workers – Printing/Packaging company
Our client is growing and seeking more motivated, reliable candidates to join their production team as full-time, permanent entry-level Production Workers. This is an exciting opportunity to embark on a career in the printing and packaging industry with a reputable company in Cobourg, Ontario.
About the Position
As a Press/Finishing Feeder/Catcher, you will be responsible for operating and tending a variety of printing and finishing machines that transform paperboard into consumer packaging products. Your role is crucial in ensuring our client’s business consistently exceeds customer expectations and aligns with their cultural, financial, and operational objectives.
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Rate of Pay: Starting at $21.03 per hour
- Hours of Work: Must be flexible to work 8-hour, 3-shift operations (MAD rotation) and, when needed, 12-hour continental shifts with rotating weekends off. Shifts include days, evenings, overnights, and alternate weekends.

Key Responsibilities
- Feed cartons into gluers, formers, and windower machines.
- Collect cartons and stack them on a skid or into cases according to packing specifications.
- Check cartons for quality and ensure they meet standards.
- Operate a taper, carton packer, strapper, and wrapper.
- Use a walkie (must have a valid license).
- Assist in make-ready processes and label products as required.
- Maintain line clearance, quality checks, safety, and production standards in accordance with company standards.
- Uphold health & safety and Safe Quality Food standards at all times.
- Maintain housekeeping and adhere to regular cleaning schedules to ensure a safe, tidy workspace.
- Support and demonstrate the company’s core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to work any shift – 8-hour, 3-shift operations and 12-hour continental shifts with rotating weekends off. Shifts include days, evenings, overnights, and alternate weekends.
- Previous folding carton experience is strongly preferred.
- Must have previous production manufacturing experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well with other team members
- Must have basic computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to visually discriminate colour for matching and detecting shades and differences.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing awkward, repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Comfortable working with a variety of hand and electrical tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in fluctuating temperature environments.
