Industrial Mechanic Millwright

We are seeking an experienced full-time permanent millwright to join a plastic injection molding company in Cobourg. The ideal candidate will take on the crucial responsibility of installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency and minimal downtime. The successful millwright will demonstrate a deep understanding of precision mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics, with a proven track record in a manufacturing environment. This role is crucial in maintaining a dedication to quality, safety, and continual enhancement of production processes.

 

PAY RATE: $42.44 p/h.  Premium: $0.70 for afternoons and $0.90 for Midnights

OTHER BENEFITS: Company benefits will start 3 months after probation, company pension after 1 year.   All tools and uniforms provided upon the start date.

HOURS/SHIFTS: 8-hour MAD rotation

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensure thorough and timely completion of work assignments directed through work orders.
  • Adhere to outlined procedures for regular machine preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Identify and resolve machine breakdowns through troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Coordinate with outside services as necessary to install new equipment.
  • Set and uphold maintenance standards and propose maintenance programs for improvement.
  • Promptly notify the relevant personnel of stock deficiencies and tool/material requirements.
  • Utilize your skills to construct, assemble, and dismantle machinery and equipment.
  • Embrace compliance with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and third-party requirements to enhance pollution prevention strategies.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possession of Red Seal Millwright certification – 433A is mandatory
  • Must have at least two years work experience after certification
  • We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a proven commitment to safety
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital
  • The ability to organize and prioritize workload is key
  • Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office software is imperative
  • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics is highly valued
  • Additionally, experience with plastic injection molding is considered an asset
  • Willingness to utilize ERP as necessary
  • Support for QMS implementation and ongoing continuous improvement is expected
  • Completion of all other duties as assigned is also required
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50lbs
