Customer Service Technician

Our client who is an ISO certified global brand located in Port Hope and well known for the superior quality and reliability of its products is hiring a  full-time Customer Service Technician.  In this role you will be assisting with the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of their automated conveyor systems and other material handling equipment.  This position requires someone who is able to travel within and outside Canada once Covid restrictions have been lifted.

 

START DATE: As soon as possible

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm or as negotiated

RATE OF PAY: $25.00 – $29.00 per hour

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical working knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of automated conveyor systems, and other material handling equipment
  • Basic understanding of PLC, LOGO, and similar controls
  • Excellent customer support via Phone, video calls, email and in person
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, and pneumatics type systems
  • Interpersonal and communication skills as well as excellent customer service skills
  • The preferred candidate will provide comprehensive technical support to our customers to include maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of conveyor systems
  • Strong understanding of reading electrical schematics, maps, blueprints and manuals
  • Ability to work with third party for problem solving
  • Computer literacy proficiency in Excel, word
  • Must be able to travel within and outside of Canada
  • To work with the ISO team regarding NC & CC

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively evaluate equipment, and recommend and perform appropriate, cost-effective, quality repairs, and maintain a variety of industrial equipment
  • Recommending/ selling spare parts as needed for customers
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and promote goodwill between the company and customers by providing excellent customer service
  • Regularly observe customer sites and assess customer needs
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and customer safety and housekeeping guidelines
  • Travel within and outside of Canada at short notice (after Covid Restrictions are lifted)
  • Other duties as required
  • Maintaining test facilities and performing test of custom material
  • Scheduling of travel and time at customers
  • Manage and prepare expense reports
