We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper for a long term care facility in Cobourg.   This is a full-time permanent position reporting directly to the Senior Accountant.  In this position you will be responsible for the accounts payables and receivables, all resident transactions and reporting to Head Office.   This will be a great fit for a bookkeeper who has experience working with Yardi and has great people skills!


START DATE:  As soon as possible

SALARY: $48,000

BENEFITS: Benefit package that includes, dental, drugs, RRSP matching and life insurance offered after the three month probation period

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday – 8 hour shifts



  • Responsible for accounts receivable/collections and processing all vendor payables.
  • Records all financial transactions using Yardi
  • Prepare all the resident billings and handles any queries concerning billings from residents or their families
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, service providers and staff.
  • Responsible for the petty cash funds.
  • Prepare and deliver bank deposits.



  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices
  • Knowledge and experience using  Yardi software preferred
  • Must have a post-secondary certificate or diploma in accounting, or a related course.
  • Minimum three years experience in a similar position with working knowledge of general office operations.
  • Experience in Long Term Care is considered an asset

  • Other duties assigned by the Management Team or Head Office
  • This residence follows the same Covid-19 protocol that all other Retirement Homes in Ontario follow and at times there will be testing and screening at the front door of the facility.
